Undo Unwanted Brows: Professional Eyebrow Tattoo Removal in London

You wake up, and check the mirror. What do you see? Those tattooed eyebrows that seemed like the most terrific idea last month are now not. Maybe they’re too dark, too arched, or – heaven forbid – slightly uneven. Whatever the reason, you’re now frantically Googling “eyebrow tattoo removal in London” and probably feeling a bit panicky.

Take a deep breath! The good news is that London has solutions for your brow emergency. I’ve done the research, and I’m here to share what I’ve learned.

When Good Brows Go Bad

Eyebrow tattoos and microblading have exploded in popularity over the last few years. Not surprising – who wouldn’t want to wake up with perfect brows and skip that daily pencilling-in faff?

The problem is that not all brow artists are created equal.

Common brow disasters include:

  • The dreaded “Scouse brow” (way too dark and bold)
  • Odd shapes that don’t suit your face
  • Brows that have gone a strange colour (ever seen orange eyebrows? Not a good look!)
  • Uneven pairs (one sister, one distant cousin twice removed)
  • Placement that’s just off

If you’re nodding along desperately at the moment, you’re definitely not alone.

How Does Eyebrow Tattoo Removal Work?

There are several methods used for sorting out dodgy brows in London clinics. The right one depends on how recently you had the tattoo done, how deep the pigment is, and what you hope to achieve.

Li-FT Solution Removal

Some clinics soak your eyebrows in Li-FT solution to prevent your body from retaining the ink. However, that’s also why you must book the appointment within 48 hours after your microblading session. The skin has closed over after this time.  Otherwise, you’ll need to wait 8 weeks to fix the issue using either laser or LiFT again but with a tattoo machine and need this time.

What To Expect During the Process

If you’re currently hiding under a hat and considering removal, here’s the realistic lowdown:

It’s Not Instant

Much as we’d all love a magic wand solution, removing tattoos takes time. Most people need multiple sessions – usually 2-4 for microblading or machined brows.

Some clients have their removal done over three sessions, spaced about 6 weeks apart. By the second session, the pigment has USUALLY have faded enough that they felt comfortable going out without desperately pencilling over them.  It isn’t possible to predict how the ink used will react with the laser, or how much fading occurs after each session of laser or LiFT removal.

There’s Some Downtime

Your brows might look a little red and angry immediately after treatment, stinging a little bit. Some methods can cause slight scabbing (not ideal for a business meeting or hot date).

It’s Not Always Complete

Sometimes, removal doesn’t eliminate every trace – especially with some colours or old tattoos. But most places can fade them enough that they’re no longer that they are hardly visible, or so you can get the re-done properly.

Finding a Decent Clinic in London

London’s got loads of options, but you want to choose carefully (after all, fixing a botched job requires expertise!).

Look for places that:

  • Specialise specifically in tattoo removal (not just general beauty)
  • Have proper before and after photos of BROWS specifically (not just tattoos on other body parts)
  • Offer a consultation first including being truthful about expectations and aftercare
  • Have good reviews online (especially on Google, which is harder to fake)

I’d ask to see examples of their work, specifically with brow removal specifically. Some clients had consultations with three different places before choosing, and most said the one with the most honest expectations was the best.

The Silver Lining

If you’re still hiding under a cap and wondering if you’ll ever show your face again, take heart! Almost everyone who had their brows removed said the same thing – it was worth it for the peace of mind. After all, having a temporarily red forehead is better than something you permanently regret. With eyebrow tattoo removal, you don’t have to live more years with your regrets. Don’t you agree?
