Design and Display
The Nothing Phone (1) was the brand’s first smartphone that was launched in 2022. On the other hand, the Nothing Phone (2a) is the latest and third entrant in the brand’s lineup, which was launched in 2024.
As compared to the Phone (1), the Phone (2a) comes with a fully redesigned back panel. Though both these models still come in black and white variants with red accents, the Phone (1) has more Glyph lights across the rear panel.
On the other hand, the Phone (2a) has fewer lights, missing out on specific visual indicators like the charging indicator.
Another difference between the two devices is the glass back panel. The Phone (2a) has curved edges, while the Phone (1) features sharper edges. Also, the latest Phone (2a) features matte-finish sides, unlike the metallic sides found on the Phone (1).

When it comes to performance, the Phone (2a) is backed by a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro chipset, which is more powerful than the Snapdragon 768G in the Phone (1), making multitasking and gaming buttery smooth.
Moreover, the Phone (2a) comes with a bigger 5000mAh battery than the Phone (1)’s 4500mAh battery, lasting longer on typical usage.However, the Phone (2a) does support 45W charging as compared to 33W on Phone (1) but misses out on the wireless charging feature.
